AKD Softwoods is a successful vertically integrated forest products company, growing and manufacturing quality timber products. AKD Softwoods is internationally recognised for being an innovative company, employing the latest technologies across its multiple production facilities. With a proud history, stable ownership and employing over 330 people, we are focused on building a culture of continuous improvement and are looking for the ‘right’ person to join our team.
Due to the growth of the organisation and expanse of the Forestry function over recent years, we are offering an exciting opportunity for an astute, self motivated person to join our Forestry team.
This role has been developed to assist in the planning, management and implementation of the forestry function and programs across over 8,000 hectares of Company owned radiata pine plantations, as well as numerous privately owned plantations.
Whilst the main focus of this position is silviculture, people with experience and expertise in plantation harvesting will be considered as opportunities exist to create more value from our estate.
Reporting to the Resource Manager this permanent full time position suits someone who is both autonomous and self driven, but can also work well in and coordinate a team.
Tertiary qualifications in Forestry are preferred, but not essential. Qualifications in Environmental Sciences, Science or significant relevant experience in plantation silviculture or harvesting would also be considered for people with the right attitude and potential.
Remuneration commensurate on skills, experiences and fit to the organisational culture. If you have commitment, energy and are motivated to make a difference, please email or post your resume and cover letter using reference code ‘HSC0616’ to the below details.
