AKD Otway Trail Run 2025

The AKD Otway Trail Run is a trail run and walk on Sunday, 23 March 2025 on the Old Beechy Rail Trail between Barongarook and Gellibrand in Victoria. 

We are proud to be the major sponsor of this event and encourage AKD employees and their families to take part and support our community. All funds raised for Colac Area Health towards a paediatric simulator which will allow our local nurses and healthcare professionals to complete life-saving training right here in Colac.

  • 16km Trail Run (Timed), starts at 9am
  • 6.3km Trail Run (Timed), starts at 10am
  • 6.3km Walk, starts at 10:05am

Event Highlights:

🏃‍ The 16km Run will take you from Barongarook, guiding you downhill through delightful cool bush to Birnam Station and the first drink station at around the 6Km mark. Conquer the hill, traverse through undulating bush, and embrace the pastoral landscape as you make your way to Kawarren.

🚶‍ Kawarren marks the start line for the 6.3km Walk & Run

🏞️ Both the 16km and 6.3km Trail Runs culminate at the picturesque Rex Norman Park in the delightful Otways village of Gellibrand, offering a rewarding finish to your journey.

🚌 Need transportation? No worries! We’ve got you covered. Limited parking is available at Barongarook and ample parking at Kawarren, ensuring a smooth start to your day. However, we encourage you to take advantage of the convenient buses available at the start line. Why? Because after completing the run, you’ll have the opportunity to stay in Gellibrand, where a hearty meal and live music await you. It’s the perfect way to celebrate your achievement and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of this charming village. So, leave the parking hassles behind, hop on the bus, and enjoy the full Otway Trail Run experience from start to finish!

Personal belongings

There will be bags available at the start line of the 16km run and 6km walk/run to store personal belongings and clothing. These will be transported to Gellibrand. Please no valuables.

Drink Stations

Water will be available at both 16K and 6K start lines. Drink stations will be located at approx 5km and 10km along the run.

There will also be drinks available at the Finish line in Gellibrand. We do encourage you to bring your own bottle to reduce the environmental impact.
